Mary E. (Norris) Kaddatz, age 92, of West, passed away early Sunday morning, January 1, 2017 in Plano. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Alvin Kaddatz, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mary was born February 16, 1924 near Hubbard, the daughter of Marvin H. and Elsie Lou (Spruiell) Norris. She attended Hoen school and graduated from Hubbard High School in 1940. On October 15, 1940 she was united in marriage to Ervin C. Kaddatz in Malone. Ervin preceded her in death on October 17, 2014. Mary was a homemaker and bookkeeper for TB Bond Pharmacy in Hillsboro. She was the first female to run for the West ISD School Board. Mary was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Malone and then the First Lutheran Church in Waco, where she served as Secretary and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and reading books. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Carla Urbanovsky; and brother, Dwight Norris. Survivors include her children, Rebecca Kolar and husband David of West, Cathy Ewing of Richmond and Charles Kaddatz and wife Tori of Frisco; a son-in-law, Gary Urbanovsky of Elm Mott; grandchildren, Nicole Hall and husband Darrin, Julie Kirkpatrick and husband Tommy, Jody Urbanovsky and wife Dawn, Linsay Tomlinson and husband Norman, Ryan Kolar and wife Courtney, Aaron Kolar, Makenzi Ewing and fianc Nicholas and Adam Ewing and fianc Gina; great grandchildren, Cory and wife Shawn, Austin, Jace, Gage, Koby, Ellie, Parker and Audrey; great-great-granddaughter, Ryleigh; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Norris, Nancy Kaddatz and Frances Kaddatz; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Jody Urbanovsky, Ryan Kolar, Aaron Kolar, Adam Ewing, Cory Hall, Austin Hall, and Jace Kirkpatrick. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Urbanovsky, Ed Hodde, Dean Hodde, Arthur Smith and Abel Rovira. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of your choice.
