Mary Janek

Mary Janek, age 87, of Dallas, passed away Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022 at her residence. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Monday, March 21, 2022 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Gerry Davis officiating. Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery in West. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mary was born April 2, 1934 in Waco, the daughter of Plese and Mamie (Gunter) Dewey. She was a graduate of Waco High School. On January 26, 1952 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Janek in Waco. Lloyd preceded her in death on August 26, 2016. Mary was a member of Dallas Brethren Church. She worked for Beneficial Finance in Dallas for 27 years. Mary enjoyed traveling the world with her husband and sisters in Christ, Dorothy, Jeri, Mary Alice, and Billie. She was a generous, fun-loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who had a heart of gold. Her presence will be deeply missed. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joan; and step father, Lois Lee Tindell. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Janek and wife JoDee of Sachse, Gary Janek of Dallas, Paul Janek and wife Louise of Dallas, and Roy Lee Janek of Dallas; grandchildren, Tina Kolb and husband Kevin, Joshua Janek and wife Jessica, Chris Torres and wife Kate, Rachael Janek and her partner Kaci Saenz, Rachelle Janek, and Janay Walker and husband Steve; great grandchildren, Preston Kolb, Kristin-Carolise Kolb, Dalton Torres, Grace Bucknell, Wyatt Bucknell, Joshua Janek Jr., Jacob Janek, Madison Leone Janek, Dylan Walker, and Devin Waker; brothers, Gene Tindell, Wayne Dewey, and Ronnie Tindell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Brethren Church.
