Mary Hanlon, age 40, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Providence Hospital in Waco, with her mother by her side. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Rev. Bruce Gruver officiating. The family asks that friends and relatives of Mary join them in remembering her life. Mary was born in DeQueen, Arkansas on April 22, 1978 to Gene Austin and Mary Ann (Ball) Bennett. She attended Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville, Kansas. Mary was united in marriage to Russell Hanlon on October 5, 2002. Russell preceded her in death on February 14, 2013. Mary enjoyed writing poetry, crocheting, making jewelry, reading her Bible and spending time with friends and family. She loved, and was loved, by everyone she knew, and brought joy with her in her smile, wisdom and love for the Lord. Mary is also preceded in death by her father, Gene Austin Bennett; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include her mother, Mary Ann Bennett; sister, Ruth Slovak and husband Bernard of West; nephews, Marcus Slovak of West and Michael Holler of Independence, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends. Flowers may be sent to Aderhold Funeral Home or memorials may be made to Providence Hospice Place in her memory.
