Mary Dujka, age 97, of Ross, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Tuesday evening, August 24, 2010 at home with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead, with the Rev. Joel Boesche officiating. Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Dujka was born on June 17, 1913 near Taylor, the daughter of Josef and Marie (Krauz) Herijan, both Czechoslovakian immigrants. Mary was baptized as an infant at the Taylor Brethren Church and attended Waterloo School. After her marriage to Joe Dujka on January 19, 1941, they began their married life on a farm near Ross where they raised five children. Joe preceded her in death on January 16, 1991. Mary worked side by side with her husband on the farm, cared for elderly parents, gardened, canned, quilted, sewed, and planted flowers. She made each of her children a special quilt when they married and made a baby quilt for each grandchild. She devoted her life to her family and her Lord. She knew Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior, confident of her salvation. Mary instilled the Christian faith in her children and brought them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Though she had little formal education, she encouraged her children in their education endeavors. Always known as a kind and caring person, Mary was generous with her time, talents, and prayers. Mary was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellmead. Mary was also a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No 54, where she was recently honored as the oldest living member. Mary especially loved spending time with her family. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Larry Roden; and a half-sister, Christine Zezulka. Survivors include five children, Mary Ann Roden of Godley, Betty Moss of West, Pauline Lawson and husband Robert of Ross, Evelyn Pareya and husband David of West, and Joe Dujka, Jr. and wife Doris of Mansfield; her sisters-in-law, Ann Skrabanek and Agnes Dujka, her best friend; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Gary Roden, Ricky Roden, Brandon Moss, Bradley Moss, Eric Wynia, Herb Gullickson, Nathan Coles, and Keith Macik. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ross Volunteer Fire Department, St. Paul Lutheran Church or West Volunteer Ambulance Association. Mary's family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Jose Eisma and her caregiver, Rita Bentura.
