Mary Ann Rejcek

Mary Ann Rejcek, age 85, of Covington, passed away early Thursday morning, January 21, 2016 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Denver Crawley. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Mary was born August 20, 1930 in Abbott, the daughter of Peter P. and Lillian (Soukup) Urban. She attended school in Abbott and was a 1948 graduate of Abbott High School. On May 31, 1949 she was united in marriage to Louis V. Rejeck in Abbott. Louis preceded her in death on December 8, 2015. Mary and Louis operated the family farm near Covington where they harvested wheat, milo, corn, cotton and did custom combining. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro. She was also a 50 year member of the KJZT Society in Hillsboro. Mary enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and collecting recipes. She especially loved entertaining her grandchildren. Mary is also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Stephanie Rejcek; brothers, Jim Urban, Eddie Urban, Benny Urban, Henry Urban, Rudolph Urban, Willie Urban and an infant, Adolph; and sisters, Clara Janda, Christine Slovak and Millie Rejcek. Survivors include her children, Teresa Truttmann and husband Tom of Covington, Veronica Theobald and husband Bill of Eden Prairie, MN, Bernadette Doty and husband Monte of Teague, Louis J. Rejcek and Ginny Lewis of Itasca, Patty Haber of Ft. Worth and Mary Ann Kennedy; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers are Anthony Theobald, Phillip Martinez, Kyle Kennedy, Kevin Kennedy, Scott Doty, Louis Rejcek III, Timothy Sulak, James Barron, Scott Haber, Korbin Price and Lance Rejcek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro.
