Martha (Holy) Sinkule, age 100, of West, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, March 6, 2018 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Joe Keating as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Martha was born September 3, 1917 near West, the daughter of Joe and Lillian (Smajstrla) Holy. She attended St. Mary's school. On December 28, 1938 she was united in marriage to Vaclav J. "Jim" Sinkule in West. Jim preceded her in death on November 23, 1982. Martha was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Martha was also a member of Catholic Daughter of America Court #829, St. Anne Altar Society and KJZT Society #11. She enjoyed gardening, canning, embroidery, watching EWTN, baking kolaches and making her angel food cakes. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially cooking meals for all of them at lunch time. Martha was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Holy Jr. and Raymond Holy; and sisters, Margaret Nemec and Wilma Kaluza. Survivors include her children, James Sinkule and wife Marcella, William Sinkule and wife Angeline, Tommy Sinkule and wife Margaret and Rose Marie Favors and husband David; a brother, Charlie Holy; grandchildren, Vincent Sinkule and wife Monica, Dennis Sinkule and wife Mary, Elaine Goff and husband Rick, Darren Sinkule and wife Stephanie, Doug Sinkule and wife Angela, Dwayne Sinkule and wife Kayla, Dale Sinkule, Philip Kramer and fianc Catherine Savell, Brandy Rosprim and husband Jay, Shane Favors and wife Dedra, Carl Sinkule and wife Jolene, and Jim Sinkule and wife Ashley; 31 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Vincent Sinkule, Dennis Sinkule, Elaine Goff, Darren Sinkule, Doug Sinkule, Dwayne Sinkule, Dale Sinkule, Philip Kramer, Carl Sinkule, and Jim Sinkule. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 or to the charity of your choice.
