Martha Gibbs

Martha Irene Gibbs, age 74, of Mart, passed away Friday afternoon, September 19, 2014 at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with Pastor Lester Hutson officiating. Burial will follow at Gerald Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at the funeral home. Martha was born December 21, 1939 in Borger, the daughter of the late George O. and Anna Dale (Horn) Gibbs. She attended school in Clifton and was a 1956 graduate of Axtell High School. Martha owned her own quilting business called Martha's Quilting. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, knitting and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include two sons, Chuck Mills and wife Donna and Velton Mills, all of Houston; a daughter, Thiry Kincaid and husband Rick of Spring; brothers, O'Neal Gibbs and wife Lois, Dan Gibbs and wife Nancy and George T. Gibbs and wife Vickie; sisters, Sarah Newell and husband Gerald and Ann Gibbs; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers are Chuck Mills, Velton Mills, Amon Copeland, George Copeland, David Mace and Timothy Mace. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
