Martha E. Dvoracek, age 91, of Waco, passed away early Sunday morning, April 6, 2008 at St. Catherine Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 3:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Anthony Odiong as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Ms. Dvoracek was born on July 6, 1916, in West, the daughter of Charles and Otillia (Bezdek) Dvoracek. She attended the Leggott School and West public schools. Martha went to work at Connally Air Force Base until moving to San Angelo in 1945. There she worked in supply at Goodfellow Air Force Base where she was taught accounting. She then worked for over 40 years for an accounting firm in San Angelo where she specialized in commodities before retiring in 1991. Martha was a member of the Texas Women's Bowling League and was a former national singles champion. She was also very active member of Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church in San Angelo, and enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and watching all sports on TV. Martha was also very active in veteran's affairs. She returned to McLennan County in 2003. She is preceded in death her parents; four brothers, Albin Dvoracek, Edward Dvoracek, Herman Dvoracek, and Charles Dvoracek; and three sisters, Terry Stone, Mary Dvoracek, and Helen Gross. Survivors include a sister, Lilyan Dvoracek of West; a brother, Frank Dvoracek of Lady Lake, FL; many nieces and nephews, including Ed Dvoracek; a special friend, Carl Ballew; a cousin, Tracy Morse; and several other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center.
