Martha Ann Hosek, age 85, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 29, 2017 at West Rest Haven in West. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Darrell Kostiha as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Martha was born December 18, 1931 in Penelope, the daughter of Edward and Francis (Mensik) Holub. She was a 1949 graduate of Penelope High School. On April 16, 1955 she was united in marriage to Eugene R. Hosek in Penelope. Martha was a service representative for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Dallas, San Antonio and retired from the Waco office in 1986. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Martha was also a member of the Catholic Daughter of America Court #829 and St. Anne's Altar Society, KJZT Society #11. She received the Lumen Gentium Award from the Diocese of Austin in 2010 and was the chairperson for the Clerical Endowment Fund. Martha enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting, participating in all church activities and taking care of St. Joseph's Hall for over 20 years. She especially loved spending time with her family. Martha is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Edith Nors; and brothers, John Holub, Jerry Holub, Frank Holub and Bill Holub. Survivors include her beloved husband of 62 years, Eugene Hosek of West; a daughter, Denise Cadell of Waco; her grandchildren, Lauren Cadell and Ryan Cadell; a brother, Henry Holub and wife Carolyn; a sister, Frances Soukup and husband Steve; sisters-in-law, Shirley Holub and Mary Rose Pell; brothers-in-law, Edward Hosek and wife Frances and Bill Hosek and wife Susie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Ryan Cadell, T.C. Nors, Charles Kubala, Richard Holub, Larry Holub and David Holub. Honorary pallbearers are the Catholic Daughter of America Court #829. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Daughter of America Court #829 or to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
