Marilyn Bajer, age 50, of Abbott, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home by Janice Kaluza, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with Rev. Stephen Nesrsta as celebrant. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. Marilyn was born on September 12, 1958 in Waco, the daughter of Frank and Catherine (Flaherty) Bajer. She graduated from Abbott High School and Texas State Technical College with a Dietary Degree. Marilyn worked as a Dietary Manager for the Homestead Nursing Home in Hillsboro over 10 years, Turkey Shop in Abbott, DFW Airport Deli, Malouf Sewing Factory in Hillsboro, and as a Sandwich Chef in Dallas. Marilyn loved car races, making handmade rosaries, playing dominoes, especially 42 tournaments, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was a member of KJZT #11, and was a lifetime member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott. She is preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father, Frank Bajer, Jr. Survivors include her mother, Catherine Bajer and special friend Alfons Mikuda of West; her special friend, Joe Napolitano of West; one sister, Linda Kaluza and husband Ronnie of Austin; three brothers, Frank J. Bajer III of Mart, Larry Bajer of Abbott, and David Bajer and wife Cathy of West; four nephews, Shane Kaluza, Brian Kaluza, Frank Bajer IV and wife Brenda, and Adam Bajer and special friend Lena; six nieces, Crystal Mier and husband Scott, Brandi Bajer and special friend, Lee Green, Amy Bajer and special friend, Paul, Jamie Neal and husband Allen, Kelly Deramee and husband Christopher, and Jessica Bajer; great-nieces and nephews, Zachary, Spencer, and Caitlyn; godparents, Willie Mae and Ambrose (Ham) Uptmor; and several other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers will be Shane Kaluza, Brian Kaluza, Adam Bajer, Frank Bajer IV, Allen Neal, Christopher Deramee, and Zachary Sowers. Honorary pallbearers will be all her nieces and nephews, and Christina, Hazel, and Andrew Abelli. Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott.
