Marie Snider

Marie (Svrcek) Snider, age 82, of Elm Mott, passed away late Tuesday night, May 23, 2023 at the Village at Providence Park in Waco.

A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar as celebrant and Deacon Ronnie Sykora assisting. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery.

Marie was born June 28, 1940 in West, the daughter of Cyrill and Christine (Marek) Svrcek. She was a 1958 graduate of West High School. On November 7, 1959 she was united in marriage to Dean Snider in West. Marie was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church.  She was also a member of the Tours Senior Group, KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11, KJT Society #31, RVOS Lodge, and SPJST Lodge #6 in Cottonwood. She worked for State National Bank in West, Community State Bank in Waco, Bellmead State Bank in Bellmead, American Bank in Waco and Compass Bank in Waco, where she served as branch manager until her retirement in 2005. Marie enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, camping, tending to her flowers and plants, listening to live country and western music, dancing, and the outdoors. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Charlie Pavlas and Bernd Hirsch; sister-in-law, Gwen Hirsch; and son-in-law, Bill Garcia.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 64 years, Dean Snider of Elm Mott; three daughters, Theresa Sieja and husband David of Trophy Club, Laura Garcia of Elm Mott, and Deana Coan of Arlington; grandchildren and their spouses, Christine and Greg Phillips, Allan and Lauren Sieja, Steven and Ealina Melton, April and Clayton Crawford, Angie and Joseph Fore, Rachael and Jacob Hernandez, Becca and Ryan McGrath, Christianah Garcia, Mary Amy, and Cody Coan; great grandchildren, Ellie, Lillian, Ezra, Lee, Callie, Stephen, Adley, Gabriel, Quincy, Annah, Madison, Bryson, Jolie, Malachi, Macie, Della, Blake, Emery, Rilynn, Josiah, Abrielle, Aedric, Levi, and Amiah; brothers, Cy Svrcek and wife Unett, Raymond Svrcek and wife Betty, and Robert "Bob" Svrcek and wife Jeanie; sisters, Lil Pavlas and Edith  Brem and husband Herbert; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Louis Hirsch, Louis Pavlas, David Sieja, Bryan Young, Brent Pavlas, and Travis Pavlas. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons, Steven Melton, Allan Sieja and Cody Coan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Martin's Cemetery Association or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
