Marie Sexton

Marie Sexton, age 92, of Abbott, passed away Wednesday morning, March 15, 2023 at  Hewitt Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hewitt.

Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with Deacon Ronnie Sykora officiating. Marie will lie-in-state from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Marie was born November 27, 1930 in Abbott, the daughter of August and Mary (Kral) Maler. She attended school in Abbott. On June 1, 1948 she was united in marriage to Ray Sexton in Abbott. Ray preceded her in death on December 26, 2012. Marie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was a secretary for General Tire and Rubber Company in Waco for 20 years and she was an antique dealer for many years at area flee markets. She enjoyed collecting antiques, taking care of her cats, and watching Dallas Mavericks Basketball.

Marie is also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harold Ray Sexton; and a grandson, Harold Ray Sexton Jr.

Survivors include her granddaughter-in-law, Julie Sexton of Abbott; three great-granddaughters, Keila Sexton and Wes Ruth, Kearstyn Sexton, and Kylie Sexton; a great- great- grandson, Kiptyn Ray Ruth; and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund or St. Mary's Cemetery Association.
