Marian (Uptmor) Glass, age 93, went to meet her heavenly Father on Friday, January 22, 2021. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar as celebrant. Burial will follow, alongside her husband J.T. Glass, at St. Martin's Cemetery. Marian was the second of seven children born to Benjamin and Josephine (Schroeder) Uptmor in the community of Tours on June 19, 1927. After graduating from West High School, she moved to Dallas to attend business school, after which she worked as a bookkeeper for Sears Roebuck. On April 23, 1949, she married Navy Veteran J.T. Glass with whom she spent 68 happy years and raised three daughters. J.T. and Marian spent time in Dallas and Lake Charles before moving to Austin in 1964, where they lived together until J.T. passed on August 18, 2017. Marian and her family were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. There she volunteered at Scared Heart Elementary where her daughters also attended school. She served as an Election Judge in Travis County for over 50 years. Marian was an avid bridge player, making many friends in her bridge groups over the years. Marian was also preceded in death by her daughter, Dr. Janice Glass Mouser; brothers, Benjamin and Gregory Uptmor; and sisters, Rosalie Uptmor and Angeline Land. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Glass, and Brenda Adams and husband Mike; grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Mouser Fry and husband Clint, Dr. Benjamin Mouser, Mary Mouser Flury and husband William, Jessica Keas and husband Jason, Jennifer Morgan and husband Keith, Shannon Adams Kaltenbach and husband Shawn, and Nathaniel Adams; great-grandchildren, Colton and Caleb Fry, Brooklyn Onkst, K.J. and Jadyn Morgan, and Emma and Ally Keas; a sister, Alma Enlow; a brother, Kenneth Uptmor; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Halcyon Home Health, particularly Brenda Hill, Tanya Williams, Toni Costley, Morolake Adetiloye, and Yveline Destin, as well as the friends and neighbors who supported and cared for Marian.
