Margie Peters

Marjorie Ann "Margie" (Neel) Peters, age 84, of West, passed away early Wednesday afternoon surrounded by her family, May 22, 2024 at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 29, 2024,  at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Minister Bob Martin officiating. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Margie was born May 22, 1940 in Waco, the daughter of Martha (Dabney) and W.A. Neel Sr. She was a 1958 graduate of Waco High School. On November 25, 1977 she was united in marriage to Joe Peters in Waco. Joe preceded her in death on November 16, 2018. Margie was a very active member of the West Church of Christ where she helped take the elderly shopping, took them to doctor appointments, visited the shut ins, and took care of the children in the nursery. She worked for American Income Life Insurance Company in Waco. Margie loved spending time with her family and was most proud of being a "Grandma" and "Great Grandma". She enjoyed reading, baking, being outdoors, socializing, and was known to "never have met a stranger".

Margie is also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George and W.A. Neel Jr.

Survivors include her children, Jay Duncan and wife Marlu of Lorena, Jeff Duncan and wife Kim of Bruceville, and Jodie Munoz and husband Mike of West; her grandchildren, Christopher Duncan, Nick Harwood and wife Megan, Heather Brown, Whitney Duncan, Caitlin King, Michelle Pointer and husband Trevor, Emily Harwood, and many bonus grandchildren; many great grandchildren, her sisters, Lana Zahirniak, Diane Parma and husband Gary, and Debbie Dunn and husband Steve; sisters-in-law, Wanda Neel and Pat Neel; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Nick Harwood, Christopher Duncan, Grant Neel, Trevor Pointer, Xzavier de la Cerda, and Stoney Robinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Church of Christ or charity of your choice.
