Margie Joyce Horn

Margie Joyce Horn, age 75, of Temple, passed away early Wednesday morning, November 10, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Margie was born on March 28, 1935 in West, the daughter of A. J. and Rose (Deiterman) Weinberger. She attended St. Mary's School, West High School, 4-C Business College, before receiving an Associate of Arts Degree from Temple College. On November 26, 1953 she was united in marriage to William E. (Buddy) Horn in West. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1976. Margie was homemaker and worked as a secretary. Her husband was in the Air Force for 22 years, so Margie was able to live in numerous cities in the United States and also abroad, in Germany and Greece, living on the Island of Crete. She never met a stranger and enjoyed people, the outdoors, animals and beautiful Texas sunsets. More than anything, she loved being with family. Margie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her parents; a brother, Raymond "Sonny" Weinberger; and a sister, Estelle Uptmore; also preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Denise Horn of Temple; two sons, David Horn and wife Eunice of Round Rock and Robert Horn and wife Deborah of Cedar Park; a sister-in-law, Leona Weinberger of West; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews and close friends she considered family. Pallbearers are James Weinberger, Derrick Hurtt, Hayden Stevens, Dylan Horn, Drew Horn, and John Weinberger.
