Margie Hatchel

Margie (Bettge) Hatchel, age 72, of Grand Prairie, passed away early Friday morning, February 10, 2012 in Arlington. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki at celebrant. Burial will follow at DFW National Cemetery. Margie was born April 27, 1939 near Leroy, the daughter of Edmund and Willie Mae (Schroeder) Bettge. She attended St. Martin's School and graduated from West High School in 1957. Margie was united in marriage to Walter Hatchel on April 22, 1997 in Arlington. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2011. Margie worked for LTV (Vought) and the federal government. She also worked for VA Hospitals and Corps of Engineers and retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Officer in 1995. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Grand Prairie. She enjoyed gardening, gambling, traveling, quilting, and doing volunteer work for Meals on Wheels and Citizens on Patrol in the Arlington area. Margie is also preceded in death by her parents; a husband, Jack Haller; and three brothers, Francis Bettge, Bobby Bettge, and Kenneth Bettge. Survivors include a son; Glenn Grones of Arlington; three brothers, Ed Bettge, Jr. and wife Maria, of Killeen, Bill Bettge and wife Annette, of West, and Vernon Bettge, of Blum; two sisters, Mary Lauth and husband James, of Odenton, MD and Doris Grones of Waco; two grandchildren, Charles Grones and Melissa Lambert and husband James; a great granddaughter, Helen Lambert; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Charles Grones, Melissa Lambert, James Lambert, Amanda Pafford, Rene Kolar, Kim Austin, Kathy Cardwell, and Karen Dulock.
