Margaret Sulak

Margaret Sulak, 91, of West, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009, at West Rest Haven. A Rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Sulak was born June 4, 1917, in Penelope, the daughter of Tom A. and Aurelia L. (Orsak) Bartosh. She attended school in Penelope, and was a 1934 graduate of Penelope High School. On Feb. 11, 1942, Margaret was united in marriage to Edward G. "Tony" Sulak in Brownwood. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1999. She was a secretary and clerk for Lone Star Gas Co. for over 35 years, before retiring in 1986. She loved to travel, dancing to Czech music and spending time with family and friends. Margaret was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 54, V.F.W. Post #4819 Ladies Auxiliary, McLennan-Hill Czech Heritage Society of Texas, Catholic Daughter of America Court No. 829 and St. Anne Altar Society. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Lillie Mae Kramolis. Survivors include many nieces and nephews including, John B. Sulak and his wife, Beth of West, Susan Crain and husband, Jack of Waco, Steve Sulak and wife, Karen of Lampasas, and Mary Lechler of Lorena; and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
