Margaret Hawkins

Margaret Hawkins, age 76, of Houston, formerly of Ross, passed away late Friday night, May 16, 2014 at Memorial City Hospital in Houston. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday at Bold springs Cemetery near West, with Rev. Jimmy Sansom officiating. Margaret was born July 3, 1937 in Baytown, the daughter of Grady E. and Ruby Alice (Whaley) Moyers. On April 14, 1960 she was united in marriage to R.E.L. "Dick" Hawkins in Baytown. Dick preceded her in death on September 15, 1994. Margaret was a nurse for the Waco Independent School District for many years. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Gholson. She was also a member of the Order Of The Eastern Star. Margaret enjoyed sewing, trading Beanie Babies and collecting angels. She and dick loved taking care of their honey bee hives. Margaret is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dan A. Moyers. Survivors include sisters-in-law, Jeanne Warren and Cordelia Drews and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
