Mandi Gerik

Mandi LeAnn Gerik, age 42, of Austin, passed away early Friday morning, October 29, 2021, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Round Rock. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. John Boiko as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mandi was born December 22, 1978, in Waco, the daughter of Bruce and Mary Lou (Lowden) Gerik. She was a 1997 graduate of Crockett High School in Austin prior to attending Austin Community College. Mandi has worked for the Texas Board of Nursing, Texas Real Estate Commission, and Epicor all in Austin. She enjoyed fishing, visiting with her many friends, singing karaoke, and painting canvases and rocks then sharing them with friends and family. Mandi is preceded in death by her grandparents, Arnold and Rosie Gerik and Jack and Margie Lowden; uncles, Jerry Lowden and Donald Gerik; an aunt, Mona Zahirniak; and her beloved fur baby, Eclipse. Survivors include her father, Bruce Gerik and wife Patricia of Waco; her mother, Mary Lou Gerik of Austin; two brothers, Kevin Gerik of Round Rock and Mark Gerik and wife Debbie of Robinson; step brother, Jamie Smith and wife Rosa of Nevils, GA; step sister, Shelly Prince and husband Wesley; nieces and nephews, Tristan Gerik, Gavin Gerik, Kaitlyn Gerik, Kelsie Gerik, Suzanna Smith, Kristen Smith, Eli Smith, Jacob Smith, Jessie Smith, Ashley Chavarria and husband Drew, and Amber Cline and husband Mike; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Kaitlyn Gerik, Kelsie Gerik, Sam Gerik, Aubrey Gerik, Bob Gerik, and Michael Gerik.
