Lydia Huse

Lydia Huse, age 85, of Malone, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her residence. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Malone with Pastor Michael Nemec officiating. Mrs. Huse was born August 7, 1925 in Hill County near Malone, the daughter of Herman and Louise (Ulich) Zettler. She attended schools in Malone. On May 3, 1954 she was united in marriage to Wylie H. Huse in Malone. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2003. Lydia was a farmer and worked at the Turkey Shop in Abbott for 22 years before retiring in 2005. Prior to that, she worked for Creditors Manufacturing Company and Tufts Cafeteria. She enjoyed driving tractors and visiting with customers at the Turkey Shop. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, Allen Dean Huse and wife Teresa of Malone; a brother, Weldon Zettler of Mart; a sister, Lillie Ranke of Bellmead; four grandchildren, Lacey Melton, Monnae Davis, Jennifer Leach, and Donny Claborn; eight great grandchildren; a niece, Connie Hackett; and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
