Lucille Wynne, age 99, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 6, 2008 at West Rest Haven. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, with the Rev. Ann Hitt officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Wynne was born on November 13, 1908, in Snow Hill, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie (Garner) Dove. She attended school in Snow Hill. On December 17, 1930, she was united in marriage to George G. Wynne in Love Field. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1983. She worked as a heavy material weaver for textile mills in Dallas, Corsicana, Gonzales, West, Ft. Worth, and Massachusetts before retiring from the Clarence Mills in Clarence, New York in 1971. After her retirement they returned to West to be near their daughter. She was a member of the Bellmead Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Lucille was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in West. She was known as a very hard worker and enjoyed cooking and doing yard work. She especially loved spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Joshua Barton; three brothers, L.G. Dove, Bennett Dove, and Curtis Dove; and three sisters, Lillie Adams, Ruth Poston, and Merle Riddle. Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Steinocher of West; a brother, Henry E. Dove of Edgewood; five grandchildren, Mark Barton and wife Mary of Spring, Paul Barton, David Barton, and Stephen Barton and wife Patti, all of West, and Paula Simpson and husband Casey of Waxahachie; seven great-grandchildren, Rachel and Devin Barton, Jessica Barton, Mason Barton, Lauren and Breanna Simpson, and Jacob Barton; two great great grandchildren, Braeden and Kirsten Jewell, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Pallbearers will be Mark Barton, Paul Barton, David Barton, Stephen Barton, Devin Barton, and Casey Simpson. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of West.
