Lucille Allen

Lucille Katherine Allen, age 85, of West, passed away late Monday, March 10, 2008 at St. Catherine Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday at White Rock Cemetery with Dr. John Crowder officiating. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Mrs. Allen was born January 24, 1923 in Ross, the daughter of Chester and Willie Lee (Erwin) Nichols. She attended West High School and worked as a waitress and restaurant manager most of her life. She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing bingo at the VFW Hall, the horse races, and spending time with her family. Her parents; two brothers, Martis Nichols and Kenneth Nichols; and her sister, Aileen Brock, precede her in death. Mrs. Allen is survived by three sons, Steve Allen and his wife Carla of West, Pat Allen of Durant, OK., and Mike Allen of Magnolia; two daughters, Carolyn Marlar and her husband Obie of San Antonio and Wanda Hoffman and her husband Alan of Mart; one brother, Jerry Nichols and his wife Dorothy of Bedford; one sister, Frances Lee Nichols of Mexia; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Obie Marlar, Alan Hoffman, Bart Marlar, Rusty Hinton, Troy Allen, Ash Dabbous, and John Nichols. Memorials may be made to White Rock Cemetery Association.
