Louis Kolar

Louis J. Kolar, age 90, of Waco, passed away late Saturday night, October 15, 2005 at Providence Park in Waco. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Providence Park in Waco, with Msgr. Mark Deering as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Kolar was born May 10, 1915 in Hill County, the son of Emil and Josephine (Sulak) Kolar. He attended schools in West and Aquilla. On October 15, 1940 he was united in marriage to Ellen Wedeking in Waco. She preceded him in death on July 5, 1997. Louis was a truck driver for several propane companies including Startex Propane in Waco for 37 years before retiring in 1980. He was a longtime and active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead. Louis was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and K.J.T. Society No. 18 both in Bellmead, and the R.V.O.S. Lodge. He enjoyed volunteering at Geneva Hall and Caritas. Louis loved gardening and fishing. His parents; two brothers, Henry Kolar and Milton Kolar; and a sister, Lucille Schroeder; also preceded him in death. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Rodgers and her husband Ray of Esconido, California, Betty Hill and her husband Albert of Baytown, Marjorie Kultgen and her husband Peter of Waco; three sisters, Georgie Pustejovsky of West, Josephine Meinzer of Dallas, and Adele Matus and her husband Albin of Bellmead; a sister-in-law, Hattie Kolar of West; five grandchildren, Tina Hill-Andrade, Scott Hill, Kim Hill, Greg Rodgers, and Amy Hime; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Kelsey Andrade; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers are James Pustejovsky, David Kolar, Scott Hill, Austin Hime, Alfred Meinzer and Tommy Federwisch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caritas or Providence Park at St. Catherine Center.
