Louis Frank Mears

Louis "Frank" Mears, age 90, of Gholson, passed away late Friday morning, April 7, 2017 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Gholson Cemetery, with Steve Callaway officiating. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Chapel in West. Louis was born September 4, 1926 in Gholson, the son of John L. and Ruby (King) Mears. He attended school in Gholson. On January 3, 1948 he was united in marriage to Irene Sanders in Bellmead. Louis was self employed and did many things including operating a gravel truck and farming. He was known as a trader and attended many area auctions. Louis enjoyed trail riding, living the country life and going to the West Cattle Auction. He especially loved spending time with his family. Louis is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, J.B. Mears; and a sister, Maggie Howard. Survivors include his beloved wife of 69 years, Irene Mears of Gholson; a daughter, Caroline Callaway and husband Steve of Houston; grandsons, Christopher Callaway and wife Lauren and Kyle Callaway and wife Sharayah; great grandsons, Jackson and Jason Callaway; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gholson Volunteer Fire Department.
