Lonnie L. Barefield

Lonnie L. Barefield, age 90, of Waco, passed away Wednesday morning, August 4, 2021 at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2021 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West. Burial will be at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. Lonnie was born April 13, 1931 in West, the son of Maxie and Lula (Walls) Barefield. He attended school in West. On December 9, 1949 he was united in marriage to Jean Brown in Hillsboro. Jean preceded him in death on April 3, 2014. He worked for Bob Hoover Construction Company in Waco for 10 years prior to working for his self and many other area contractors. Lonnie also sold life insurance and worked for the Waco Fire Department. He enjoyed photography, fishing, and taking trips to Colorado in his travel trailer. Lonnie is also preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Michael Barefield; a brother, David Barefield; and sisters, Sylvia Reid and Shirley Schoen. Survivors include his children, Dennis Barefield and wife Mona of North Richland Hills, Richard Barefield and wife Jackie of Bayou Vista, and Michele Allen and husband Terry of West; a brother, Johnie Barefield and wife Janet; grandchildren, Theresa Snider and husband Darren, Jeremiah Barefield and wife Erinn, Carmen Archbald and husband Gavin, Christina Vaughn and husband Randy, Angela Allen, and Phyllis Rasmussen; great grandchildren, Ryan, Ricky, Kristen, Dylan, Sophie, Sarah, Jayde, Emerson, Brooke, Annalynn and Leopold; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Rock Cemetery Association.
