Lois Martha Rejcek

Lois (Hanzelka) Rejcek, age 95, of West, passed away late Sunday evening, November 6, 2016 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Lois was born December 19, 1920 in West, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Foitek) Hanzelka. She attended the old Cottonwood school. On October 25, 1943 she was united in marriage to Anton V. Rejcek Jr. in West. Lois was a mother and worked hard on the family farm. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America Court #829, KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11 and the McLennan/Hill Czech Heritage Society. Lois enjoyed sewing, baking kolaches, traveling, making noodles, playing "42" dominoes, and attending polka festivals. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barbara Smith; brothers, Raymond Hanzelka and Jimmy Hanzelka; and sisters, Lillian Traywick, Christine Hanzelka and Martha Snapka. Survivors include her beloved husband of 73 years, Anton Rejcek of West; children, Cathy Reddell and husband Terry of Hubbard, Anthony Rejcek and wife Sharon of West and Genevieve Qualls and husband Walter of Calvert; a sister, Dorothy Holacka; grandchildren, Jeff Reddell and wife Yvonne, Terry Reddell Jr., Kevin Rejcek and wife Jacqueline, Kristen Rejcek and Kayla Rejcek; great grandchildren, Katy and Ryan; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jeff Reddell, Terry Reddell Jr., Kevin Rejcek, Kristen Rejcek, Kayla Rejcek, Katy Reddell and Ryan Reddell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Cemetery Association or St. Mary's School Wish List.
