Lois Evelyn Church, age 79, of Waco, passed away late Friday evening, September 30, 2011 at Woodland Springs Nursing Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West with Chaplain Brian Pendelton officiating. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery near Tours. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Church was born October 22, 1931 in Amarillo, the daughter of Wallace and Frances Louise (Ballard) Eddings. She was raised and attended schools in Ft. Worth and was a 1949 graduate of Polytechnic High School. In 1951 she was united in marriage to Jack C. Church Sr. in Ft. Worth. He preceded her in death. Lois was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for the Ft. Worth Steel Company. She also taught dancing and was a copywriter for KTVT Channel 11. She enjoyed gardening, networking on AOL, and raising horses and cattle. Lois is also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Robert Church; a brother, Wallace R. Eddings Jr., and a special brother-in-law, Howard Church. Survivors include a son, Jack C. Church Jr. of Waco; a grandson, Douglas H. Church; sisters-in-law, Louise Church and Georgia Eddings; several nieces and nephews, including Danny Drake, who was like a brother; a cousin, Jan Acola, who she loved like a sister; and many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jack Church, Bobby Mitchell, Clarence Garland, Daniel Thompson, Steve Abel and Aaron Beseda. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Providence Hospice.
