Lloyd L. Degges, age 96, of Elm Mott, passed away early Thursday morning, May 24, 2007 in Lake Jackson, Texas. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at White Rock Cemetery near Ross, with Rev. Jody Gousset officiating. Mr. Degges was born on September 21, 1910 in McLennan County near Ross, the son of William Curry and Lizzie (Ferguson) Degges. He attended school in Ross. On September 9, 1939 he was united in marriage to Arrie Lou Stoker in Belton. She preceded him in death on March 13, 2002. Lloyd worked as a foreman for McLennan County Precinct No. 3 for over twenty-two years until his retirement in 1977. He also drove a school bus for the Elm Mott schools for several years. Lloyd was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Elm Mott. A grandson, Harold Degges, also preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, Wade Degges and wife Lois of Laguna Park, Ron Degges and wife Sherry of Lake Jackson, and Donnie Degges of Lexington, South Carolina; one daughter, Angela Nicosia and husband Mike of Corpus Christi; one sister, Edna King of Lake Jackson; six grandsons; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Rock Cemetery Association.
