Lisa Marie Middlebrook, age 48, of West, passed away late Friday, December 20, 2013 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Closner Cemetery with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Lisa was born September 5, 1965 in Waco, the daughter of Bobby Ray and Barbara Ann (Skopik) Middlebrook. She graduated from West High School in 1985. She worked at Sulak's Caf and the Village Bakery in West. Lisa was also a homemaker before her health started to fail. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and First Baptist Church in West. Although disabled, she had a cheery attitude and never met a stranger. She enjoyed horseback riding with her friends, listening to Czech music, fishing, swimming, playing dominoes, cards, and bingo. She loved her dog, Cuddles and cat, Bubba and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Lisa is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Johnny Ray Fulton; a daughter, Cynthia Marie Fulton; and a brother, Ed Middlebrook. Survivors include a brother, Robert Middlebrook and special friend Dewayna of West; a sister-in-law, Sharon Middlebrook Mena and husband Randy of Bryan; two nieces, Katy Frazier and husband Kyle and Sarah Armor and husband Kevin; a nephew, Eddie Middlebrook, II; three great nieces, Katie, Lizzie and Kelly Brooke; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many beloved friends and caregivers. The family would like to thank the former West Rest Haven and currently Senior Care of Hewitt for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
