Linda Sharp

Linda (Uptmore) Sharp, age 58, of West, passed away late Sunday evening, January 22, 2006 at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West by Rev. Ed Karasek, followed by a visitation until 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Monsignor Mark Deering as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Linda was born on April 5, 1947 in Waco, the daughter of Johnnie Joseph and Rose Marie (Klish) Uptmore. She attended St. Mary's School in West, Reicher Catholic School in Waco and was a graduate of Richfield High School in Waco. She then went on the study cosmetology at T.S.T.C. and at Truman's School of Beauty. On December 26, 1965 she was united in marriage to Francis Michael "Mickey" Sharp. Linda was an office manager for Adair Grain Company in West for 10 years. She also worked for Flowers n' Things for six years, for C-Line Products for 10 years, for O.L. Sharp Electric in Waco, and was the manager for the West V.F.W. Club. Linda was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 6, and West V.F.W. Post No. 4819 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as treasurer. She was a very gifted person, especially with crafts and flower arranging. Linda loved everything outdoors like swimming, camping, fishing, and going to the beach. Her parents and a brother-in-law, Larry Nolan preceded her in death. Survivors include her beloved husband of 40 years, Mickey Sharp of West; a son Michael Sharp of West; a grandson, Taylor Sharp of Streetman; a brother, Johnnie Ray Uptmore and wife Teresa of Waco; three sisters, Karen Nolan of Ft. Worth, Melissa Dailey and husband Kenneth and Tammi Burchfield and fiance David Hall, all of Arlington; a brother-in-law, O. L. Sharp Jr. and wife Carol of Waco; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Segars and husband Tommy and Jan Kimmel and husband Phil, all of Waco; and many special nieces, & nephews, who knew her as Aunt Ninna, other relatives, and friends. Active pallbearers are . Honorary pallbearers are members of the West V.F.W. Post 4819 Ladies Auxiliary. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
