Linda Hill

Linda Lee (Hannes) Hill, age 68, of West, passed away late Thursday afternoon, October 3, 2024 at her residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vaverek as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Robin Waters. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Linda was born on February 26, 1956, in Waco, to Clarence and Lillian (Lucien) Hannes. She received her early education at St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from West High School in 1974. She pursued further studies at Hill Junior College in Hillsboro, McLennan Community College in Waco, and Dallas Baptist University in Dallas. On January 14, 1978, she married Dennis Hill in West. A dedicated member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Linda was actively involved in her community, serving with the Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and the KJZT St. Ludmila Society #11. Linda had a successful career, working as a supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, AT&T, and Avaya Telephone Company for over 27 years before retiring in 2003. Following her retirement, she worked as an attendance clerk for the West Independent School District for several years. In her free time, Linda enjoyed needlepoint, playing bingo, riding her bicycle, traveling to Winstar, and watching the Price Is Right, cooking shows, and fixer upper shows. She was a passionate fan of the West Trojans, Texas Rangers, Texas Aggies, and Dallas Cowboys. Linda had a beautiful soul, was selfless, had a big smile, signature laugh, and carried a vivacious firecracker spirit. She never met a stranger and her warmth and dedication to her family and friends will be fondly remembered.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, Clarence "C.W." Hannes and a brother, William "Bill" Hannes.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 46 years, Dennis Hill; her mother, Lillian "Tootsie" Hannes; a daughter, Lindsay Hill, all of West; her sisters, Fran Hoggard and husband Bill, Sharon Lassiter, and Sandra "Pookie" Peterson and husband Keith; her sisters-in-law, Pam Hannes, Sharon Mena and husband Randy, and Rebecca Holloman and husband Jeff; a brother-in-law, Kenneth Hill and wife Melinda; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Billy Hannes, Ryan Pervier, Brett Holloman, Frank Henry Wiedemann, Alan Lucien, Trenton Peterson, Mike Cammack, and Pat Cammack.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure or St. Mary's School Endowment Fund. In honor of Linda the family has requested you wear something red to her service.
