Linda Sue Bates, age 78, of Ross, passed away late Sunday evening, July 31, 2022 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Minister Ernie Albrecht officiating. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery near Ross. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Linda was born February 24, 1944 in Waco, the daughter of Elmer and Beulah (Cook) Gribble. She attended schools in Waco. On December 15, 1961 she was united in marriage to Batsell Bates in Waco. Linda was a member of the Bellmead Church of Christ. She was a purchasing agent for K-Mart in Houston, Dallas and Waco for 20 years. Linda enjoyed reading and supporting all sporting events that her children and grandchildren were involved in. She was a member of the Spring Klein Softball Association in Houston and Good News Committee in the Houston and Dallas areas. Linda is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Eric Bates; a grandson, Jacob Bates; an infant brother, Clarence Gribble and sisters, Kay Gribble, Billie Morris, and Darlene Gribble. Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, Batsell Bates of Ross; her children, Batsell "Bubba" Bates and wife Lisa of Ross, Linda "Sissy" Cobb of Ross, Dawn Biagas and husband Casey of Huntsville, Pam Lambert of Waco, Keithia Burke and husband Randy of Belton; two sisters, Dorothy Hickman and Carolyn Beene; her grandchildren, Ashley and Aaron Ferrell, Tiffany and Eric Munn, Nathan and Caitlin Lambert, Victoria and Andrew Burke, Britanie Biagas and Mike Zingrebee, Ryan Lambert, Chelsi Lambert, Jordan Burke, Keilee Burke, Kayli Biagas, Batsell "Bubba" Bates II, Eric Bates, and Roxxi Richards; her great grandchildren, Keira, Kaden, Kerzei, Asher, and Cooper; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Jordan Burke, Batsell "Bubba" Bates II, Stephen Ihlenfeldt, Jeff Stinson, Jim Bates and Eric Bates. Honorary pallbearers are all her West boys. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bellmead Church of Christ or White Rock Cemetery Association.
