Lillie (Barton) Yahraus, age 84, of Rowlett, formerly of Belton and West, passed away late Friday evening, October 6, 2006 at a Rowlett nursing home. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at West Brethren Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Yahraus was born September 23, 1922 in McLennan County near West, the youngest of nine children born to Victor and Roselie (Dragac) Barton. She attended schools in West and was a graduate of West High School before attended Business School in Dallas. On April 25, 1942 she was united in marriage to William Floyd Yahraus in Dallas. He preceded him in death on March 12, 2000. She was a housewife and homemaker. Lillie was a member of the Maxwell Senior Citizens Center in Deer Park where she enjoyed playing dominoes and she was a former member of the Harker Heights V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She also loved to play bingo, "42", work in her flowerbeds, shop, and watch scary movies. Her son, Floyd W. Yahraus and eight brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Rose Simmons of Garland and Mary Katherine Atkinson and her husband Ken of Deer Park; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
