Lillian Zoe Pinter, age 91, of West, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at Providence Health Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at West Brethren Church with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Pinter was born on April 22, 1916 in the Penelope area, the daughter of Frank and Emilie (Fabian) Rypel. She attended Griffin School and graduated from Penelope High School in 1934. On November 17, 1936, she was united in marriage to William John Pinter in West. Lillian was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, cooking, sewing, embroidering, humming birds and dogs. She was a very faithful member of West Brethren Church, where she was active in the Christian Sisters, Church Choir, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marie Janek. Survivors include her beloved husband of 71 years, William Pinter of West; two daughters, Betty Jean Pope and husband Wesley of Benton, Arkansas and Joyce Mekhjian and husband Tony of Dallas; one sister, Elsie Janek of West; four grandchildren, Jennifer Beatty and husband Rik, William Mekhjian, Stephanie Mekhjian and Christopher Mekhjian; one great-granddaughter, Christen Beatty; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to West Brethren Church.
