Lillian Z. Chudej

Lillian Z. Chudej, age 89, of West, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 3, 2010 at West Rest Haven in West. Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Chudej was born November 29, 1920 in Hill County, the daughter of John A. and Mary (Bezdek) Zatopek. She was raised near Abbott where she attended school. On June 26, 1945 she was united in marriage to Albin F. Chudej in West. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1995. Lillian was a homemaker and loved her husband, family and most of all her Lord and Savior. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and prayed her rosary daily. She was also a member of the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11. Lillian enjoyed cooking, sewing, and quilting. Her parents; a brother, Johnny Zatopek; and a sister, Mary Skerik; also preceded her in death. Survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Tom Zatopek, John Zatopek, Pat Zatopek, Mark Zatopek, Michael Zatopek, and Joshua Rosenberg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund.
