Lillian Hlavenka Kudelka

Lillian (Hlavenka) Kudelka, age 90, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, October 24, 2009 at her residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kudelka was born June 17, 1919 in West, the daughter of Tom and Frances (Hutyra) Hlavenka. She attended St. Mary's School and on August 6, 1946 she was united in marriage to Ernest J. Kudelka in West. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2003. Lillian was a homemaker, worked part time for Tony Sulak CPA during tax seasons and for Kolacek's Bakery. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She was also a member of Catholic Daughter's of America Court No. 829; K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11; a volunteer for the West Community Hospital, and was very active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4819 Ladies Auxiliary. Lillian enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and she especially loved spending time with family and friends. Her parents and a brother, Alvin "Slick" Hlavenka also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Kudelka and wife Sandi, and James Kudelka and wife Judy; a daughter, Sharon Wilson and husband Rory; two brothers, Alfred Hlavenka and his special friend Rosalie Walla and Richard Hlavenka and wife Annie, all of West; twelve grandchildren, Marty Kudelka and wife Nra, Russell Humphrey and wife Alain, Chad Kudelka and wife Janine, Matt Kudelka and wife Becky, Mandy Kudelka, Evan Kudelka, Jason Wilson, Sara Wilson, Scott Warren and wife Tonya, Shane Warren and wife Teresa, Casey Warren, Natalee Warren; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, Isaiah, Malachi, Zeke, Riley, and Brayden; many friends including a special friend, Milada Mazanec; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Active pallbearers are Russell Humphrey, Chad Kudelka, Matt Kudelka, Evan Kudelka, Marty Kudelka, Tommy Hlavenka, and Rob Lair. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Wallace, Deryl Schlemmer, Larry Ferrero, and Milada Mazanec. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church of the Assumption Building Fund or the Providence Hospice.
