Lewis E Davis, age 87, of Leroy, passed away early Sunday afternoon, August 1, 2021 at Providence Hospital in Waco. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. LIVE STREAM of the service will be provided. Burial will follow at Billington Cemetery near Axtell. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Lewis was born December 1, 1933 in the Munger community near Hubbard, the son of Rufus and Alma (Miller) Davis. He attended schools in Hubbard. On June 13, 1953 he was united in marriage to June Brady in Waco. June preceded him in death on August 16, 2018. Lewis was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in West where he served in many capacities including, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Needs Assessment Committee Chairman. He worked for Fox & Jacobs in Dallas for 28 years before retiring in 1985. Lewis enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading and watching westerns, and square dancing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren . Lewis is also preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Brad Davis; brothers, Billy Davis, Don Davis, Ray Davis, and Kenneth Davis; and a son-in-law, Floyd Wyatt. Survivors include his daughters, Pat Wyatt of Billington, Anita Dorris of Waco, and Connie Davis and husband Roy of Leroy; grandchildren, Christi Hernandez and husband Victor, Stephanie Wyatt, Jennifer Sanchez and husband Tyrone, Kim Nors and husband George, John Davis and wife Molly, and Amy Graham and husband Leo; great grandchildren, T.J., Destiny, Chestin, Tatum, Chanci, Tinsler, Matthew, Kaleb, Michael, Samantha, Kyle, Avery, Cole and Kenzie; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are T.J. Sanchez, Chestin Graham, Matthew Hernandez, Kaleb Vincent, Michael Hernandez, Cole Davis, John Davis and Kyle Nors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of West Building Fund.
