Lester R. Linville Jr., age 82, of Waco, passed away Saturday evening, December 21, 2013 at his residence. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the West Veterans Honor Guard. Lester was born April 3, 1931 in Gholson, the son of Lester and Bertha (Willis) Linville. He attended Gholson School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Lester was united in marriage to Dorothy Coffer in Waco. She preceded him in death in February of 1983. He then married Alta V. Loosier and she also preceded him in death in August of 2011. Lester worked for Alamo Steel, West Cotton Mill Texas National Guard Armory, and Mexia State School until his retirement in 1994. Lester was a member of Chalk Bluff Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge in Mexia. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching westerns and taking care of his dogs. Lester is also preceded in death by a brother, Weldon Linville and siste, Lucille Barnett. Survivors include a son, Ronald Linville of Waco; two daughters, Donna Kay West of Waco and Deborah Wooten and husband Willie of Wortham; a step-son, Christopher Gibbs; two step-daughters, Daina Higginbotham and Tracy Higgs; four grandchildren, Shannon Rash, LaDonna Rash, Marshall Burns and David Burns; three step-grandchildren, Matthew Gibbs, Sarah Higgs, and Megan Gibbs; four great-grandchildren; one step great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Rash, James Holder, Josh Sorrell.
