Leo Mynarcik

Leo Mynarcik, age 88, of West, passed away early Friday morning, August 28, 2015 at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Paul Hudson as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Leo was born November 15, 1926 near Ross, the son of Anton and Bessie (Steinocher) Mynarcik. He attended school in Ross. Leo served his country with the United States Army during World War II. On January 27, 1948 he was united in marriage to Rosalie Petter in Abbott. Rosalie preceded him in death on April 29, 2010. Leo was a Route Salesman and later a District Manager for Ben E. Keith Distributing Company in Dallas for 22 years before retiring in 1980. After he retired, he worked as a warehouse and delivery man for Pool Quip McNeme, Inc. until retiring again in 1994. They returned to West in 1997. He was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Leo was also a member of the SPJST Lodge #54, KJT Society #31, VFW Post #4819 and American Legion Post. He enjoyed playing the accordion, mowing yards, gardening and tinkering with anything mechanical. Leo is also preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Don Hons; and a sister, Mary Svrcek. Survivors include two sons, George Mynarcik and wife Sherry of Canyon Lake and Tim Mynarcik and wife Linda of Alvord; a daughter, Kathy Hons of Mesquite; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Jonathan Hons, Adam Tarpley, Robert Mynarcik, Jerry Mynarcik, Ben Svrcek and Bill Holub Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund or West Rest Haven Disaster Relief Fund.
