Leo A. Sulak Sr., age 91, of Waxahachie, passed away early Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018 at Legend Oaks in Ennis. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Darrell Kostiha as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Rae Carter. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Leo was born August 7, 1926 in Aquilla, the son of Albert and Hattie (Cinek) Sulak. He attended the old Tokio school. On November 18, 1946, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Lenart in West. Leo was very successful in the insurance industry and worked as the Regional District Manager for Union Bakers Insurance Company in Dallas and Houston for many years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie. Leo was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Waxahachie and Granbury. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, taking care of his yard and fishing with his wife Evelyn. He especially loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and his dog, Ginger. Leo is preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Eddie Ray Sulak; and a daughter-in-law, Kristi Sulak. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Evelyn Sulak of Waxahachie; children, John Sulak and Donna of Ft. Worth, Calvin Sulak and wife Roann of Waxahachie, Leo Sulak Jr. and wife Christa of Red Oak and Sharon Massey of Waxahachie; a brother, Charles Sulak and wife Ellie; a sister, Martha Ann Pustejovsky; grandchildren, Melody Miller and husband Jay, Calvin Sulak Jr and wife Pam, Mindy Thomas and husband Tom, Jamie Thorpe, Steven Massey and wife Mandi, Jeanie Helpenstell and husband Scott, Teresa Sulak, Jennifer Herrin and husband Matt, Denaze Springer, Stephanie Prince and husband Jason, Tiffany Allison and husband Ryan, Caleb Anderson and wife Tiffany, Clayton Sulak, Clinton Sulak and Joey Tovar, and Destinee Farmer and husband Jay; 28 great grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Calvin Sulak Jr., Steven Massey, Randy Pustejovsky, Clayton Sulak, Charles Sulak Jr., Edward Joe Lenart, Jason Prince and Scott Helpenstell. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Lenart, Mike Helpenstell, Tim Helpenstell and Justin Miller. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School in Waxahachie.
