Lenore Roerick

Lenore L. Roerick, age 78 of Waco, passed away early Sunday morning, December 16, 2007 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Gerald Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Mrs. Roerick was born on July 7, 1929 in Phoenix AZ, the daughter of Claude and Beulah (Samples) Wise. She attended schools in California and received her nursing degree from McLennan Community College. On April 6, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edwin Roerick in Fresno, CA. He preceded her in death on June 6, 1997. Lenore was a homemaker and worked as a licensed vocational nurse at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for five years until her retirement in 1982. She loved to do needlework and crossword puzzles. Lenore also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her son, Michael D. Roerick; her granddaughter, Crystal Kelinske; and two brothers, Sonny Wise and Rayburn Wise. Survivors include one son, Delbert Roerick and wife Juanita of Athens; three daughters, Shirley Roerick Kelinske of Robinson, Peggy Whitfield of Longview, and Paula Bacon and husband Mike of Austin; one sister, Bertha Aydelott of Fresno CA; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
