Lena Mae Mounce

Lena Mae (Hitt) Mounce, age 81, of Granbury, formerly of West, passed away Sunday evening, November 6, 2016 at Harbor Lakes Senior Care in Granbury. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dennis Rejcek officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Lena was born May 27, 1935 in King, the daughter of Lonnie and Julia (Stamper) Hitt. She was a 1953 graduate of Gatesville High School. On December 15, 1963 she was united in marriage to Richard E. Mounce in Waco. Richard preceded her in death on September 30, 2000. Lena was a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed painting, sewing, writing poetry, woodworking, puzzles and playing dominoes and bingo. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lena is also preceded in death by her parents; her mother, Grace (Barrington) Hitt; brothers, Howard Hitt and Charles Hitt; and a sister, Faye Collins. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Johnson and wife Benita, Keith Johnson, and Karl Mounce and wife Vanessa; her daughters, Kathy Gremminger and husband Raymond and Karen Rejcek and husband Robert; a brother, Cecil Moon; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Woody Hagar, Andrew Tietjen, Matthew Mounce, Jason Tice, Steven Jennings, Alan Amundson, Tommy Edmond and Jeremy Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Brian Gremminger, Robert Mounce, Aaron White, Bryan Harcrow, Richard Johnson and Jay Allen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Randal Barnes, Interim Hospice and the staff and residents of Harbor Lakes Senior Care for all their love and support.
