Lee Roy Scheler, age 59, of West, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Gerald Cemetery near Leroy, with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West. Lee Roy was born May 12, 1955 in Rosebud, the son of Edmund F. and Lucille (Monthie) Scheler. He attended West schools. He was united in marriage to Betty J. Marek in Irving. Lee Roy worked for Mrs. Baird's Bread Company, Brem's Fence company and Schlitz Distributers Company. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Bellmead. Lee Roy enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and restoring old cars. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Lee Roy is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betty Scheler of Lacy Lakeview; a daughter, Melissa Scheler of Lacy Lakeview; a brother, Eddie Ray Scheler and wife Sandra; a sister, Sandra Schuetz and husband Virgil; his grandchildren, Jasmine Wafer and Cobey Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gerald Cemetery Association.
