Lawrence Skipper Perry

Lawrence "Skipper" Perry, age 59, of Eddy, passed away Saturday evening, November 27, 2010 near Eddy. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Eddy, with Rev. Ron Hill officiating. Mr. Perry was born October 22, 1951 in Eglin, FL the son of Andrew Jackson and Bennie Mae (Mast) Perry. He attended Iowa Elementary in Iowa, LA and graduated from Ceasar Rodney High School in Dover, DE. He also attended McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College. Lawrence served his country with the United States Air Force and spent two years in Germany. On May 8, 1971 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Carlstrom in Dover, DE. Lawrence was a self employed carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and boating. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Eddy. Survivors include his beloved wife of 39 years, Mary Perry of Eddy; a son, Michael Scott Perry and wife Carrie of Eddy; a daughter, Jennifer Groomes and husband Johnny of Spokane, WA; his mother Bennie Perry of Aquilla; four brothers, Curtis Perry and wife Traci and Barton Perry and wife Tanya, all of Aquilla, Paul Perry and wife Teria of Hillsboro and Travis Perry and wife Michelle of Meridian; three sisters, Ramona Ellis and husband John of Meridian, Andrea Lively and husband Ricky of Walnut Springs and Genita Dunlap and husband Billy of China Spring; two grandchildren, Michael and Kaleigh Perry; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
