Lawrence Jerome Rejcek

August 8, 1943 — December 30, 2014

Joan Rejcek lost her friend, partner, husband and soulmate, Lawrence Jerome Rejcek, Tuesday morning, December 30, 2014 at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Paul Hudson and Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Lawrence was born August 8, 1943 in Penelope, the son of Valentine and Christine (Makovy) Rejcek. He was a 1962 graduate of Penelope High School. On November 7, 1964 Lawrence was united in marriage to Joan Marie Hennig in West. He worked as a heating and air conditioning installer for more than 40 years, before retiring in 2005. Lawrence enjoyed listening to polka music, gardening, hunting, fishing, barbequing and dancing. He was an avid watcher of Dr. Phil and Oprah, but NEVER Ellen. Lawrence also enjoyed being friend, playmate, hunting and fishing buddy, as well as, Dad and Papa, to his two children and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George Rejcek, Albert Rejcek and Edmund Rejcek; and three sisters, Lucille Kubala, Bernice Gerik, and Gerry Neslony. Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years, Joan Rejcek of Mt. Calm; a daughter Stephanie Ann Pavlas and husband Michael of Penelope; a son, Shawn Jerome Rejcek and wife Toni of Bynum; three grandchildren, Sophie Grace Pavlas, Christine Elizabeth Rejcek and Cameron Jerome Rejcek; two sisters Wilma Kallus and husband Pat, and Josephine Cervenka and husband Robert; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are his Godchildren, Eddie Rejcek, Melissa (Rejcek) Wilson, Chris Rejcek, Kevin Rejcek, Jason Neslony, Jonathan Neslony, Kenneth Webre, Clarence Hennig and Matt Pustejovsky. Honorary pallbearers are all of his nieces and nephews with whom he enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and joking with. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the charity of your choice in Lawrence's name.
