Laurie Farr

Laurie Farr, of West, passed away late Tuesday evening, August 15, 2006 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at West Church of Christ with Minister Bob Martin and Minister Sam Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. Miss Farr was born July 27, 1917 in West, the daughter of Thomas H. and Laura (Anderson) Farr. She attended West schools and graduated from West High School in 1934. Laurie was a lifelong and active member of the West Church of Christ, where she formerly taught Sunday School. She was a self-employed seamstress and upholsterer. Laurie enjoyed visiting and talking with family and friends. Her parents; two brothers, William Farr and Wayne Farr; and two sisters, Myrtis Farr and Mildred Farr; all preceded her in death. Survivors include numerous cousins; her caregiver, Sharon Cooper; and many friends. Pallbearers are James "Shorty" Harkins, Bruce Huffines, Frankie Marek, Terry Sefcik, Tim Holstein, and Mickey Nevill. Memorials may be made to West Church of Christ.
