Laura U. Dvoracek, age 87, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 3, 2007 at RHD Memorial Medical Center in Farmers Branch. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Saturday at All Saint's Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr., in Dallas, with the Rev. Thomas Cloherty as celebrant. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cemetery near West, with the Rev. Anthony Odiong officiating. Mrs. Dvoracek was born on February 22, 1919 in Okolona, Arkansas, the daughter of William and Ursula (Walsh) Shope. She attended schools in Okolona, Arkansas and then Business College in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was united in marriage to Charles Frank Dvoracek on December 6, 1944, in San Francisco, California. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2003. She was a mother, homemaker who loved to cook, sew and garden for her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; a son Charles William Dvoracek, who died in 1984; and three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Ann Fitzpatrick and husband Steve of Dallas; three grandchildren, Charlene Dvoracek of Abilene, Stephanie Fitzpatrick and Charles Ryan Fitzpatrick, both of Dallas; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Albin Dvoracek, Tom Stone, Gayland Francis, Jes Stautzenberger, Mike Scott and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of your choice.
