Larry Mynar, age 76, of Abbott, passed away early Monday morning, August 30, 2021 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco. A rosary will be recited 2:00 p.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, followed by visitation until 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Walter Dhanwar as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Limited capacity, facial masks, and social distancing is encouraged at all services. Larry was born March 5, 1945 in Abbott, the son of the late Benjamin and Helen (Pavlas) Mynar. He was raised and attended schools in Abbott. On January 6, 1968 he was united in marriage to Barbara Sulak in West. Larry was a farmer and also worked with his son Leland at L. Mynar Construction for many years. He enjoyed feeding his channel cats in his pond, hunting, moving houses, and spending time working on the farm. He cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Larry was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara Mynar of Abbott; his children, Lori Miller and husband Perry of Abbott, Larry Mynar Jr. and wife Karen of Royse City, Misty Mynar of Fredericksburg, LeLand Mynar of Robinson, and Mark Mynar and wife Corissa of Abbott; brothers, Bennie Mynar and wife Lillie Marie, and Marvin Mynar; sisters, Jeanette Rieger, Bernadette Kutscherousky and husband Tommy, Helen Snider and husband Ed, and Gloria Allen; a sister-in-law, Rose Mynar; his grandchildren, Raegan Miller, Paxton Miller, Shelby Mynar, Erica Mynar, Alexander Chase, Sam Chase, Lauren Menefee and husband Carl Jr., Klynton Mynar and wife Katelyn, Logan Mynar, Lillie Mynar, Weston Mynar, and Jacob Riley; great granddaughters, Kodi Sage Menefee and Kynlee Menefee; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers are Wilfred Rieger Jr., Garrett Rieger, Marvin Mynar Jr., Bennie Mynar Jr., Tommy Kutscherousky Jr., and Eric Kutscherousky. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Penelope Volunteer Fire Department or St. Mary's School Endowment Fund.
