Larry J. Kallus, age 58, of Leroy, passed away early Thursday morning, August 19, 2010 in Austin. In honoring his wishes to be cremated, memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek officiating. The family will receive visitors following the service until 3:00 p.m. Larry was born December 17, 1951 in Hillsboro, the son of John Valentine and Irene (Grones) Kallus. He was a 1971 graduate of Abbott High School and also attended T.S.T.C., studying refrigeration and air conditioning. On March 18, 1978 he was united in marriage to Nancy Schroeder in West. Larry worked as an electrician for Facilities Solutions Group in Fort Worth. He was a member of K.J.T. Society in Abbott and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Larry enjoyed ranching and raising cattle. He especially loved spending time with his family. Larry is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his beloved wife of 32 years, Nancy Kallus of Leroy; a daughter, Jamie Jo Ruth and husband Shannon of Leroy; a brother, Kenneth Kallus and wife Lynn of Ft. Worth; three sisters, Shirley Kubala and husband George of West, Carolyn Kallus of Waco; and Tammy Galvan of Elm Mott; a granddaughter, Keri Jo Ruth and a grandson, Justin, on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society or Fuzzy Friends Rescue.
