Larry Holder

Larry Dale Holder, age 64, of Gholson, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at his daughter's home in Bosqueville.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at the First Baptist Church in Gholson, with Rev. James Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.

Larry was born January 15, 1958 in Waco, the son of E.W. "Dick" and Cleo (Chandler) Holder. He attended school in Gholson and was a 1976 graduate of West High School. Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gholson. He formerly served on the Gholson School Board. He was the owner and operator of Holder's Produce, a family business started by his parents in Gholson, for most of his life. Larry enjoyed fishing in Rockport and singing karaoke. He loved visiting with his friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Holder; and a sister, Nancy Bettinger.

Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Mendes and husband Steven of Bosqueville; his beloved grandchildren, Jordon and Layla Mendes; nephews, Darren Bettinger, Bryan Holder, and Zac McAdams, whom he considered as a son; a sister-in-law, Joann Holder; a brother-in-law, James Bettinger; his former wife, Rhonda Holder; and many other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Brian Holder, Zac McAdams, Jordon Mendes, Ronald Davidson, David Laxson, David Scott.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gholson.
